Thermosel rubber pump flexibles are used to absorb vibrations and attenuate noise caused by reciprocating plant such as pumps, chillers and air handling units. They may also be used to compensate for small amounts of axial, lateral and angular pipework movement, although for any significant movement, a specifically designed expansion joint should be used. rubber bellows will extend under pressure, and therefore tied units should
be used wherever pipework is badly anchored and/or guided. However, tied
units should not generally be used on plant mounted on inertia bases. |
